Analysis of Capacity and Management of TPS 3R Using a Geographic Information System (GIS)

In general, the problem of waste management in Indonesia is still often ignored. This is indicated by the National Waste Management Information System (SIPSN) Data from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) in 2022, the results of input from 202 districts/cities throughout Indonesia, stating that the amount of national waste accumulation reached 21.1 million tons. Of the total national waste production, 65.71% (13.9 million tons) can be managed, while the remaining 34.29% (7.2 million tons) have not been managed properly. Limited land for final disposal (TPA). In this context, TPS 3R emerged as an approach to reduce waste accumulation and maximize recycling. The purpose of this study was to evaluate and determine the distribution of service points of TPS 3R Brama Muda using quantitative descriptive analysis methods. With the sampling technique, namely Proportional Random Sampling, the number of research samples was obtained as many as 25 respondent families from 500 families. In addition, GIS spatial analysis was also used in this study. The methods used include literature studies and field observations or surveys. Literature studies aim to obtain information and supporting data related to the methods applied. Field observations or surveys were conducted to map the location of TPS 3R using GPS, as well as distributing questionnaires to the community. The purpose of this survey is to collect data on waste management at the source level and evaluate the level of public understanding of waste management issues. The approach used is descriptive. The results of identifying TPS 3R Brama Muda were obtained from comparing field realities and waste recommendations which refer to SNI 3242-2008 regarding current waste management. The management performance of TPS 3R Brama Muda is quite good. This is based on the results of a questionnaire distributed to the community to service coverage of 500 families, the service results and capacity of TPS 3R Brama Muda in a 1 km radius map can cover around 500 families, 8 restaurants, 3 home industry, 5 agencies, and 2 home schools with generation of 8.15 m3/day while the running capacity is 13.55 m³/day (5 tons/day) with a usage percentage of 60.2%.
